Our Unhealthy New Year 2013

Happy New Year! The Thew girls haven't really been feeling too well this week. Holly was taken into hospital on Sunday evening with suspect appendicitis and was kept in over night. They did blood tests, ultrasounds and to this day they still don't know what the cause was. It took a lot out of her and we discovered that Holly is very squeamish and Mammy has a severe dislike for hospital armchairs! We were lucky enough to have a fab surgeon watching over her - one of my past Grooms! He went above and beyond keeping an eye on her and has stayed in contact since we got her home.

She has slept ALOT since getting home and she is gradually building up her strength. The pain has almost gone too! Jessie however came in from school yesterday limping. She was given an appointment at 8am this morning and the doctor has advised us that she has plantar fasciitis. This is a painful inflammatory process of the plantar fascia, the connective tissue on the sole (bottom surface) of the foot. It is often caused by overuse of the plantar fascia or arch tendon of the foot. She needs to rest it for a couple of weeks and it is still sore she need to visit the biomechanics at Durham.
